Ed Boon shares image of Kameo Ferra and live action Scorpion in Mortal Kombat 1

The big boss at NetherRealm Studios, Ed Boon, shared some very interesting new images from Mortal Kombat 1 on X today as he introduced us to two upcoming DLC additions: Scorpion in his 1995 film costume and Ferra as a Kameo.

Boon shared three images thus far, though seems to be promising more featuring Sub-Zero in his film threads, which you can view below.

The 1995 live action film directed by Paul W. S. Anderson may not end up in the vault of all time classics, but it’s certainly not the worst video game film adaptation of all time (though it’s successor is in the running for that title).

Despite playing the roles of secondary villains Scorpion and Sub-Zero, easily the franchise’s most iconic characters, were especially memorable parts of the movie. Their attire in the film was fairly straightforward and lacked many of the adornments and accessories we’ve seen as their models have evolved over the last three decades, but very much prove that simple can still look great.

Mortal Kombat 1 has seen a handful of nostalgic costumes for various characters since its release late last year, most recently Sindel in her Deception apparel, and now it seems more are en route.

Perhaps an even bigger deal for many fans, however, is the sighting in Boon’s images of Ferra as a Kameo fighter.

This character popped up for just one main entry appearance when she made her debut as half of the Ferra/Torr newcomer in Mortal Kombat X, but now she’ll be returning to yet again play her part in a tag team experience.

This will most likely happen around the time the next and final DLC character for Kombat Pack 1, Homelander, drops. With Ermac releasing in recent weeks and Kameo Mavado slated to join the roster on May 7, we may be a little ways off from playing as Ferra yet.
